dc.description.abstract The essential oil of Artemia pontica (Asteraceae), obtained by hydro-distillation, was analysed by Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS). Out of 72 peaks (representing 99.8% of the oil), 63 components were identified, representing 96.5% of the total oil. The oil was dominated by monoterpenes, which accounted for 89.6% of the oil. This study showed the presence of a high percentage of oxygenated monoterpenes (76.5%) of which the main constituents were cis thujone (33.2%), 3-thujanol (20.20%) and trans thujone (9.7%). en_US
